It is of great importance that the general public be given the opportunity to experience, consciously and intelligently, the efforts and results of scientific research. It is not sufficient that each result be taken up, elaborated, and applied by a few specialists in the field. - Albert Einstein
Data-driven |
My research program approaches pediatric neurosurgery in a way that uses large national datasets to look at health care delivery. Topics range from on clinical outcomes, socioeconomic disparities, and health economics.
Ongoing quality improvement is data-driven. Our clinical practice is informed by evidence-based decisions as well as national and local benchmarks. We welcome graduate students and resident physicians as well as medical students from Northwestern and other medical schools to work with our research team. Funded pre-doctoral fellow, post-doctoral fellow, graduate research assistant and resident physician research scholar positions are available to qualified candidates. Reach out with an inquiry email below! |

I was honored to be the AANS/ACS Health Policy Scholar a few years ago.
For all young and mid-career surgeon leaders in the field, I encourage you to consider this unique opportunity. The Scholarship is awarded to one neurosurgeon a year, and includes one week of Executive Leadership and Policy training at Brandeis University, as well as participation at the American College of Surgeons Leadership and Advocacy Summit. The scholar provides policy and advocacy service to the AANS and ACS. Applications are due in early February of each year. |
